As a staunch advocate of cultural preservation, RMMC-MI organized and hosted the 3rd Kislap Katutubo at the RMMC-MI Arellano Campus Grounds on October 7, 2024, in celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month.Among the notable parts of the event were the Demsu, a traditional prayer or chant; the showcase of cultural performances of the Blaan, Moro, and Tboli triibes; and a fashion show of the traditional attires.The event was further enriched by the special message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Albert P. Balongoy, emphasizing on the advocacy of RMMC-MI towards cultural preservation. This event was made possible with the support of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Kristoffer Franz Mari R. Millado; College President, Ma. Andrea Patricia M. Millado, MBA, MA, MPMA; and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Albert P. Balongoy.
The Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College-Marbel Inc. staged its 2nd Kislap Katutubo 2023 at South Cotabato Cultural gymnasium last October 23, 2023. In time for the National Indigenous People's Month celebration. The event highlighted the performances from the RMMC-MI Helobung Dancers, Pop idols, Indak, Blaan Dancers, Tboli Dancers, and Maguindanaon Dancers, and students who modeled the refined outfits of these groups. The celebration was also graced by the Helubong Community Dance Troupe, Incorporated and the various key personnel of these groups: the Local Culture and Arts Coordinator Nenita G. Kinan, Legislative Staff of IPMR Office Koronadal City Delia Patricio Lawi-an from Blaan tribe, and Abdulfatah Bin Aliman - Ustadz from the Maguindanaon tribe.This celebration acknowledges the Tri-People of the Region: Tboli, Moro, and Blaan groups and their cultural significance in our community. In celebration of Indigenous People's Month, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges - Marbel, Inc. (RMMC-MI) will hold its first-ever Kislap Katutubo: A Showcase of IP Talents on October 26, 2022 at the Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center. This cultural concert aims to highlight the rich traditions and artistry of the Tri-people of South Cotabato: T'boli, Blaan, and Moro. The event will featured cultural presentations, a showcase of traditional IP and Moro attires, and captivating performances. Esteemed guest artists Bayang Barrios and the Nilayagan, Maan Chua, Halim G. Tabi Jr., and dance troupes such as Helobung Community Dance Troupe, Inc., and Keheligal Cultural Dance Troupe also graced the stage. Through this event, RMMC-MI reaffirms its commitment to providing a platform for Indigenous Peoples and Moro communities to celebrate and share their heritage with a wider audience.
