Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges – Marbel, Inc. (RMMC-MI) was established in 2008 upon the agreement of the Board of Trustees, with Mr. Jose Mari R. Millado overseeing its foundation and early development. The institution was envisioned as an academic extension of the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges legacy in General Santos City, founded as a non-stock educational corporation committed to accessible and quality higher education.
Mr. Florante G. Millado was officially listed as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2009, with Mr. Kristoffer Franz Mari R. Millado, MA, concurrently carrying out the responsibilities of the role, and he has continued to serve as Chairman since 2008.
RMMC-MI began its operations by offering TESDA-accredited programs, with Programming NC IV as its initial course. In 2010, the college applied for permission from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to offer degree programs. By 2011, it was granted temporary permits to open baccalaureate programs such as the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
As the college continued to welcome more students, it received additional temporary permits to accommodate second- and third-year enrollees in 2012. In 2013, the BSBA major in Marketing Management received government recognition, followed by the Bachelor of Secondary Education, BS in Criminology, and BS in Information Technology in 2014.
In 2016, the college launched its Senior High School program, beginning with Grade 11. The following year, Ms. Ma. Andrea Patricia M. Millado assumed the presidency of RMMC-MI, and the college began offering Grade 12.
The year 2017 also marked a turning point in the institution’s expansion with the opening of the Arellano Campus, whose construction began in 2015. Several new degree programs were introduced that year, including BS in Accountancy, BSBA major in Financial Management, and BS in Social Work. Other programs added were the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and the Associate in Computer Technology leading to the BS in Information Technology.
Academic development continued in 2019 with the introduction of new programs such as the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems (BSAIS) and the Bachelor of Tourism Management (BSTM). By December 2020, the college obtained permits for the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration, Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Around the same time, additional programs such as the BSBA major in Human Resource Management and the BS in Accounting Information Systems also received government recognition.
In 2022, RMMC-MI formally began its pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 certification and successfully obtained it within the same year, marking a key milestone in its institutional development and compliance with recognized quality management standards.
That same year, the institution celebrated the achievement of Ana Marie M. Agustin, who placed among the Top 10 in the September 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers(Elementary Level). Not long after, in March 2023, Jericson B. Jalagat ranked first in the Licensure Examination for Criminologists.
The year 2023 introduced the iKAAGAPAY initiative, a community development project spearheaded by the Research, Extension, External Affairs, and Development Office (REEDO) in partnership with the Barangay Saravia Local Government Unit.
Subsequently, government recognition was granted to the Bachelor of Library and Information Science in February 2024, the Bachelor of Physical Education in March 2024, and the Bachelor of Science in Psychology in September 2024. The Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration received its recognition in February 2025.
On October 17, 2024,RMMC-MI hosted a PACUCOA orientation visit as part of its preparations for the accreditation of four baccalaureate programs: BS in Information Technology, Bachelor of Elementary Education, BS in Tourism Management, and BSBA major in Financial Management.
Yet in another instance of licensure exam success, alumna Thalia Dannise S. Liba earned a Top10 spot in the September 2024 Social Work Licensure Examination, while Angelyn B. Labaria, LPT, ranked ninth in the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Currently, RMMC-MI offers additional academic programs for Academic Year 2025–2026. These include the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Bachelor in Human Services, and the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education—further reinforcing the institution’s mission to provide inclusive, high-quality higher education in Southern Mindanao.
